FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS RECOVERY HOUSING? 

Trini’s Residence provides housing for women, at least 18 years of age, in recovery for drug and alcohol addiction with an on-site resident manager and recovery services coordinator. For people who are newly sober, recovery housing can provide time and support as they learn how to sustain long-term recovery (SAMHSA, 2016). 

ARE THERE RENT AND EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS?

Yes, rent is $120 a week. Residents must be employed, and will be responsible for weekly rent upon admission. Residents unable to work must volunteer or pursue educational advancement at least 20 hours a week. 

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN RENT?

Rooms are double occupancy with a shared bathroom and common areas (kitchen with dining, living room, laundry and utility area). Comfortable furniture, television, household supplies, and all of the utilities associated with home living will be included. Bedding and personal toiletries are the resident’s responsibility. Meals are also the responsibility of the resident; however, cooking appliances, utensils and dishwasher are provided. 

ARE THERE OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF RESIDENCY?

Yes, prospective clients must be involved in a 12-step or other recovery program of their choice and be active in their recovery with at least 30 days of continuous sobriety. Residents are expected to participate in weekly house meetings and off-site yoga sessions provided by Trini Foundation.

IS THERE A MAXIMUM STAY?

There is no maximum length of stay; however, the residence and program are designed to be transitional and to afford the resident sufficient time and resources with which to establish independent, healthy living arrangements.
